“One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him…” (Luke 17:15-16)
Last Sunday, we had an amazing service and meal.
I shared a short message from Luke 17 about the ten lepers who were healed and one came back to give Jesus thanks.
I pointed out that all ten were undoubtedly thankful, but this one man, was “fall on your face I’m going to glorify Jesus with a loud voice” thankful.
God’s people are thankful people. We have been saved from eternal hell-fire and given an abundant life of peace, joy, and eternal hope. There’s no better reason to have an attitude of gratitude. Our sin has been forgiven!
So much to be thankful for – but were it not for the cross, our thanksgiving would be like that of the world – casual and obligatory.
On Sunday, we also heard testimony from several people regarding what God has done in their life throughout 2015. New jobs, family, tough times. I never tire of testimonies, of hearing about the gracious hand of God moving in and through simple people.
Don’t keep Thanksgiving confined to one day a year.
Thank Him always for your salvation.
If you are not sure if you are saved, ask Jesus to forgive you of your sin. Please let us know if you need prayer.
