What to Expect

I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.” (Psalm 122:1)
Here are some common questions and answers about visiting Calvary Chapel.
I’m looking for a church in Oakville. What can I expect if I come to Calvary Chapel?

You can expect a casual atmosphere, friendly people, simple acoustic worship music, and a message from the Bible that will speak to your life from a live speaker, usually our pastor, Pat Sieler. Our services are not a production-style experience, but rather a time for us to experience God together through worship and the Word. Our mission is to help people grow closer to God, so we pray that from the minute you enter, you feel like family.

How do I find you?

We meet every Saturday evening at 6:00 pm at the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre, 2200 Sawgrass Drive in Oakville. (Click here for directions.)

Why do you meet on Saturday night? Why not Sunday morning?

That’s a great question. The facility that we believe God has lead us to, the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre, is not available every Sunday morning, but it is available on Saturday evenings. So, for the time being, we are meeting on Saturday. Additionally, Pastor Pat does teach on Sundays at Calvary Chapel Toronto, 325 Weston Road.

Where do I park?

There is plenty of parking in the parking lot.

Once inside, what do I do with my children?

Your children may sit with you during the music part of the service, which lasts approximately twenty minutes. Then, they will have the opportunity to go to a class, will they will enjoy a lesson, music, crafts, and more–all geared specifically to their age group.

Do you have free Starbucks pastries available afterwards?

We’re glad you asked — and, yes, we do!

Do I need to dress up?

No. You are welcome to dress up if you like; however, most people where casual clothes.

What is the worship service like?

Each service features simple worship music (usually a guitar and percussion), some announcements about what is happening at the church, and a message from the Bible that you will find helpful, inspirational, and relevant. Oftentimes, there will also be a time for people to share a short testimony or prayer request.

What happens after the service?

If you need prayer, there will be someone available to pray with you. You may also stick around for a free cup of coffee and some pastries. Pastor Pat would also love to meet you and answer any questions you might have.

Please let us know if you have any other questions by filling out the form below.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
